Lofton Staffing is currently hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician for a client facility in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity for an experienced technician who is committed to accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: In Person
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Registration required
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required
- Knowledge of state laws regulating pharmaceutical compounding
- Ability to work in compliance with USP compounding standards, HIPAA guidelines, and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Proficiency in accurately typing and entering prescriptions
- Experience with Life File Software preferred
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and professional communication
- Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from physician offices
- Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system
- Assist pharmacists with retrieval of prescription files and records
- Measure medication dosages accurately and prepare compounds according to established formulas
- Verify correct formula selection and follow all quality assurance procedures
- Ensure pharmacist approval of formulations prior to compounding preparation
- Confirm accurate beyond-use dates on patient product labels
- Submit compounded medications and documentation to supervising pharmacists for final verification and sign-off
- Perform quality assurance checks on randomly selected prescriptions and document findings
- Complete daily cleaning procedures and maintain required logs
- Conduct daily and monthly inventory reporting
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
