UK Good Samaritan Inpatient Pharmacy, part of UK Pharmacy Services, is seeking two pharmacy technicians for its Central Operations.
The technicians will assist pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital setting by compounding complex sterile and non-sterile products and participating in the delivery of comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Other duties include replenishing Pyxis machines with necessary medications (including narcotics); delivering new orders, STAT doses and Pyxis replenishment medications. Technicians also prepare emergency kits and trays, such as Code Trays, Rapid Response Kits, Stroke Kits, and others; triaging dose requests or Pyxis refill requests from nurses; and assisting the pharmacist with all medication preparation and delivery and assisting nursing colleagues with any medication-related questions.
Shift: 7 on/7 off.
Both positions are eligible for a recruitment bonus. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
Both positions require a national Pharmacy Technician Certification by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT), and must register with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
