We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. In this role, you will work to provide excellent patient care by efficiently and accurately filling and delivering medications across the hospital. You must be detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills. Your responsibilities will include labeling medications, delivering medications to Pyxis, managing medication inventory, troubleshooting Pyxis issues as they arise, completing unit inspections, and helping resolve nursing questions.

The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including an ISO Class 5 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer/Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The pharmacy department supports robust Medication Therapy Services for inventory management and Pyxis ES for decentral medication storage, an electronic medical record, and smart pump technology with dose error reduction software. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program.

Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.
Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
