Pharmacy Technician II - Home Care Enteral

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Expected Starting Salary: 18.83 - 22.95
A technician who assists the pharmacist in certain activities such as enteral therapy dispensing, medication profile reviews for drug incompatibilities, typing of prescription labels, prescription packaging, handling of purchase records, and inventory control, and may, where state law and hospital policy permit, dispense drugs to patients under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Medication Orders
Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses. Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms. Delivery of patient specific doses. Prepare and perform ADC replenishment. Performs outpatient phone triage. Performs insurance adjudication. Performs medication storage inspections.

Compounding
Performs Sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding.

Tech Check Tech
Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.

Medication Management
Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.

Phone Triage
Performs inpatient phone triage

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of work experience in a related job discipline
Certified via Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)or eligible for certification Registered with Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Preferred:

3 years high volume IV experience
