This position, under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications, information, and other pharmaceutical products to Phoenix Children’s patients. Duties are performed in accordance with all applicable Arizona Board of Pharmacy statutes and rules, and department policies, and procedures. This position serves as the coordinator and primary point of contact for the Prescription Discharge Delivery Service program. This position reports directly to the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager. This position also receives supervision from Clinical Pharmacists, Lead Pharmacists and/or Lead Pharmacy Technicians.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)
Experience
Two or more years of experience as a Phoenix Children's Outpatient Pharmacy Technician. (Preferred)
Experience with various types of computer software, including MS Office Suite or equivalent. (Required)
Experience using Point of Sale systems. (Required)
Certifications
Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona. (Required)
Current Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). (Required)
Current BLS Certification. (Required)
Special Skills
Experience with pharmacy order management systems. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment using multiple computer platforms to achieve accurate results. (Required)
Demonstrated excellent oral, written and telephone communication skills. (Required)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet assigned goals. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to deliver superior customer service and work professionally with pharmacists, medical providers, and other care team staff in the hospital environment. (Required)
Demonstrated computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office 365 (or equivalent) and ability to learn new systems. (Required)
Bilingual in English/Spanish - Preferred but NOT Required (Preferred)
