Job Profile
The Pharmacy Technician will be accountable for providing the best care possible for our patients. Our technicians help coordinate across our patients’ care continuum including between the patient, providers, and pharmacy. This includes speaking directly with patients about their health, helping to organize patient scripts, filling medication orders, and working with pharmacists to optimize patient care.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Represents Mosaic to its members over the telephone, with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Answers routine inquiries from patients regarding health plan drug coverage, prices, and related issues.
- Identifies situations when patient should speak with pharmacist and appropriately triages to the pharmacist.
- Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy.
- Processes third party claims according to terms of patient’s drug plan.
- Contacts insurance companies and/or PBMs to resolve claims issues.
- Run automated machinery to pre-sort, package and restock medications.
- Orders and stocks drugs and supplies, assembles drugs and supplies for clinical departments, stocks crash carts, and performs other inventory duties.
- Packs and ships completed orders
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
