Summary
Pharmacy Tech I assists in the preparation, packaging, constant delivering and charging of medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Pharmacy Tech I assists in the processing of new medication orders as well as discharges and transfers. Pharmacy Tech I is responsible for stocking medications, constant inventory management. Involved in pharmacy quality assurance activities and assists the pharmacists, management, and other healthcare professionals in performing their responsibilities. Understanding of USP 797; JCAHO; AHCA and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:Education
Required: High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience
Preferred:
- 1-2 yrs previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills preferred
Certifications
Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB is preferred
Candidates in unit have priority based on unit seniority
