QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer Bilingual Spanish Speaking Candidates Our departments pharmacy technician positions are quite unique, and a complete contrast of your typical retail or hospital pharmacy experience. The CPhTs are a part of our “Pharmily” (Clinical Pharmacy/ Medication Management Department), and work in direct patient care with a team of Board Certified Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacist Residents, and Pharmacy Students in our community care clinics. Our community care clinics serve the uninsured, under-insured, and indigent populations in an outpatient setting with clinic staff and multi-disciplinary teams. The multi-disciplinary teams include our Chronic Disease Department (RN Health Coaches/Community Health Workers), our Behavioral Health Department (LCSWs/Social Workers/Students), and our Community Navigation Department (Community Health Workers). Over 80% of the patients we serve in our clinics are Spanish speaking, so a bi-lingual candidate is highly preferred and desired! Our CPhTs are partnered with a pharmacist and participate in medication affordability, education, reconciliation, adherence, and smoking cessation encounter visits with patients. As a part of our medication affordability work, we also have a tiered formulary so our CPhTs provide formulary knowledge and pricing for patients and providers. Due to most of our patients being uninsured and/or under-insured we also heavily rely on prescription assistance programs (PAPs), and we utilize a database to track those so knowledge of PAP programs is preferred. In addition, all our CPhTs also have dual certification as a Community Health Worker (CHW), and the training is required and provided as a part of this role.
